Overview
The Gmail integration connects your Gmail account to ClarityOPS so you can send transaction emails directly from workflows and keep track of every message in the workflow's email history.
- Send emails from within workflows using your Gmail account
- Track sent emails with Gmail message and thread IDs
- View email history on the workflow's Emails tab
- Monitor connection status from the OPS Dashboard
Setting Up Gmail
- Go to ClarityOPS > Settings > Gmail (
/ops/settings/gmail) - Click Connect Gmail
- Sign in with your Google account and grant ClarityOPS permission to send emails on your behalf
- Once connected, you'll see a Connected status badge
How It Works
When you send an email from a workflow, ClarityOPS sends it through your connected Gmail account. Each sent email is tracked with:
- Gmail Message ID - Links back to the specific message in Gmail
- Gmail Thread ID - Groups related messages into conversation threads
Your sent emails show up in both ClarityOPS and your Gmail Sent folder.
Sending Emails from Workflows
- Open a workflow and go to the Emails tab
- Click Send Email
- Pick an email template or compose a new message
- Add recipients, review the subject and body
- Click Send
The email goes out through your Gmail account and gets logged on the workflow's Emails tab.
Email History
The Emails tab on each workflow shows every email sent from that workflow:
- Subject line and recipients
- Date and time sent
- Click to view the full email content
Dashboard Status Widget
The ClarityOPS Dashboard includes a Gmail connection status widget. If your connection is lost or expired, the widget shows a warning with a link to reconnect.
FAQs
Can I use a Google Workspace (business) email? Yes. Any Gmail or Google Workspace account works.
Do replies show up in ClarityOPS? Right now, ClarityOPS tracks outbound emails sent from workflows. Replies are visible in your Gmail inbox.
What happens if I disconnect Gmail? Previously sent emails stay in the workflow's email history. You just won't be able to send new emails from ClarityOPS until you reconnect.
